Capital Region Celebration of Women in Computing

  • CAPWIC provides a low-cost, regionally tailored, small conference for women and minorities in computing
  • Abstract submissions are due typically in the Winter
  • CAPWIC also offers student scholarships to attend the conference, with applications due in the Winter
  • Groups of students can register to attend the conference together

Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC)

  • GHC is the largest tech conference in the world for women and nonbinary people.

Grad Cohort Workshop for Women

  • CRA-WP annually holds this workshop for women in computing-related studies
  • Interact with about 20 senior female researchers and professionals
  • 2 day workshop to provide career and educational success tools to female-identifying grad students in the CS field

Scholarships and Fellowships

AAUW Fellowships and Grants

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) offers a variety of fellowships and grants to support women pursuing academic work and research in STEM fields. These include the American Fellowships, International Fellowships, and Selected Professions Fellowships. Each program is designed to provide financial support for women at different stages of their academic and professional careers, from graduate studies to postdoctoral research. NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)

The National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. The fellowship provides three years of financial support, including an annual stipend and a cost of education allowance. Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarships

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) offers numerous scholarships to support women pursuing degrees in engineering, computer science, and related fields. Computing Research Association - Widening Participation (CRA-WP)

CRA-WP, previously CRA-W, strives to uplift and create positive impact for underrepresented groups in computing research and education.
